>student load

i have been in a flying slump the last few days, partly due to the cancellation of my flights of the non-payment client and partly as a result of winds and low ceilings.
here is my current student load, and where they currently stand:
student A: working on PPL and comes in almost every other day; eager to learn and stays on top of his home-study ground school.
student B: already has his PPL from circa 1970, hasn't flown since then, wants to go through the whole PPL course again. stays up on his reading and ground school. did i mention that his daughter's are each wealthier than ross perot?? (or so he says)
student C: working on instrument rating--ready for his checkride, just needs to complete the written and he will be on his way :)
student D: approaching his 16th birthday. already has 60+ hours. his father is intent on getting him soloed on his 16th birthday. i have had conversations with this gentleman almost every other day for the last month regarding whether i think his son will be ready.
student E: working on his instrument; we just completed his flight review. he schedules me every friday night and saturday morning.
student F: only schedules once a week. we are working on his flight review and finishing up on his instrument rating. is upset because he can't ever schedule an airplane and instructor the day before...hello, what flight school in the area are you going to be able to do that?? it's called planning ahead...
student G: i just inherited him from another instructor who just left to go to the airlines. he is fulfilling his childhood dreams of learning to fly. great guy...good attitude, even when he is frustrated. fun to fly with.
student H: new instrument student. haven't flown with him yet, but seems eager to learn. already has me on the schedule four times starting next week.
student I: another handoff from an instructor who is getting ready to go the the airlines. he is from another country and seems very interested in learning to fly. he is already on my schedule three times.
student J: another Instrument student handoff from a guy that went to the airlines. is eager to learn and has already scheduled me up three times.
each student brings something different to the table and teaches me something about myself. yes, i stay busy, but not as busy as one might think because some students do not schedule on a consistent basis.
i will have an update on the "non-payment" student after tomorrow...it should be a great story...

Clint,

You might want to look at http://rvproject.com/wx for weather.

Just stumbled across your blog. Great stuff to read. Got my PPL in October and I'm working on my IFR here at SMO.
