I was surfing past Speaker of the House Nanci Pelosi's site and stumbled across this BS. I thought to myself that surely this is a joke. Hasn't the Republican party and President Bush repeatedly asked the DEMOCRATICALLY controlled congress to open up more drilling?
The Law of Supply and Demand hasn't changed and for the Left-wing liberals to continue to bring up the fact that "speculators" are driving up the cost of oil, that oil companies should be taxed for their increased profits and that Bush and Cheney have "so much" to gain from increased fuel costs is an attempt to misdirect us from the real issues.
What is taxing oil companies going to do for me? Absolutely nothing.
Bush and Cheney could care less what happens with the cost of oil, they are wealthy enough with or without oil prices being this high...

In a word, yes, they do.
Seriously. The sad fact is that there are a lot of people who really are that stupid. But liberals in general, and the left in particular, really, in their heart-of-hearts do believe that they have all the answers and that the rest of us are too dumb to get it like they do.

Greybeard--That does put things in perspective. But the point was also made that something needs to be done now so we avoid a 1980-era gas crisis. I agree its not yet a crisis, but we need some real leadership in this country very soon. I know Obama definitely isnt the answer.
